🌾 Intimacy with the land 🌾
I got to visit one of my sacred soul places a few nights ago. I used to live in a magical little cottage right down the hill from this open space preserve in Marin County, California . Many times each week, in every season, I’d walk up the steep hill to this sweeping vista and commune with the land. Since moving away two years ago I’ve only been back up there a handful of times. Returning last night, my heart swelled with emotion and remembrance to see the familiar plant, tree, rock & flower friends I had developed a blessed intimacy with over the 17 years I lived there.
🌾 What a gift it is to be a human on this earth, smelling the spicy California summer smells, feeling the dusky breeze play around me, and the arresting sight of the luminous moon rising out of the golden hills...
